Walk By Faith NOT By Sight
BY FAITH Hebrews 11 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for. By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:1-3,6) The Jews who followed Jesus at the beginning suffered persecution and were at risk of turning back. You know the old Sunday School, course, I'll Follow Jesus, No Turning Back, No Turning Back. Well the Jews were in a place where they could have turned back to their old ways. The writer of Hebrews writes to encourage them and gives them examples of those who persevered and never turned back.
