Walk By Faith NOT By Sight

BY FAITH

Hebrews 11

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for. By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:1-3,6)

The Jews who followed Jesus at the beginning suffered persecution and were at risk of turning back. You know the old Sunday School, course, I'll Follow Jesus, No Turning Back, No Turning Back. Well the Jews were in a place where they could have turned back to their old ways. The writer of Hebrews writes to encourage them and gives them examples of those who persevered and never turned back. He told them if you are to be called the righteous ones, they needed to live by FAITH. (Hebrews 10:38)

Here in Chapter 11, it is called the Hall of "FAITH", Not the Hall of "Fame", so many clamour on about being on the wall of fame or getting into the Hall of Fame. But how many speak of or say I want to get into the Hall of "Faith". For me, thats my desire, I know I do not desire to be there, g\but I am doing my very best to have faith and to live by faith. Foir having faith in God is the one and only way to please Him.  It says we must have faith, “because anyone who comes to [God] must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him” (v. 6). We must also know that because God loves us, He also disciplines us. For we are His children and if a Father loves His children, He will discipline them.

Some people may move towards religion or their faith in God, like it is a leap of faith, but I see something different in Hebrews than a leap of blind faith. I see faith as having confidence in what we hope for, in other words, because I have studied the word of God, and I have souyght out God, I move forward with confidence in what I hope for and assurance about what I do not see. (Hebrews 11:1)

I agree that when we first put our trust in Jesus, its a little bit like a blind faith, because we have never experienced such love before, and it takes a bit to bring yourself to fully trust Him.But I can tell you, as I have continued following Him over the years of my life, my faith has been tested over and over again, and MY LORD has nevr let me down, My faith is no longer a blind faith, today I move forward with confidence that He is always there for me.

Like today, I move forward, going back to Rwanda to try and sell our house, God has not made it clear even that it will sell, but I know He wants me to go. I have come to the place in my faith that, even though,, I don't know the whys and hows of where He is leading mer, I still step out in a confident faith, but still at times, I ask questions as to why my leading isnt more clear. But I know I can trust God with the outcome.

I have found over and over again, when I have stepped out in faith, that Gods hand of protection is always there to help me, sometimes I fall a little hard, but most times, His hamnd is under my feet sand He lits me down gently. All I know is without a doubt He always goes before me, He walks b eside me, and He is always with me. I must look, and see where He is leading and then walk in His footprints.

I pray for you today, that your faith will result in God’s hand of protection for you/. He is with you when you seek to walk in His will and in His way. Stop. Do you see God hand at work in your life, do you see the day to day miracles that happen all around you? God is a miracle working God, I realized that more yesterday as I seen the beauty of God's creation in the little things as I stood looking across a little lake and seeing the green all around, it was a handy work of God, I seen that because of my faith in Him. How about you, do you see it?

Dear Jesus, thank You for being my creator of all things beautiful and for giving me a confident faith in you and in all that you are and do. In your name I pray AMEN
