THE LORDS PRAYER

Jesus Was Our Model in Prayer Matthew 6: 1-13, but as you are reading already, read the whole chapter it is good. Its a lot of good advise on prayer. And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say (Luke 11:1,2) Then in Mattew 6:9-13, He tells them, when you pray pray like this. "After this manner therefore pray ye: "Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever." Amen. I had a friend, who after giving his life to Christ, when ever Hhe prayed he started out his prayer just as Jesus did here as He was teaching His disciples to pray. Yes, Jesus had become his model of how to pray Just as “One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, ‘Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.’ ” Christ responded by giving them a model of prayer that we refer to as the Lord’s Prayer. He starts by focusing on the personage of God, on His holiness, and on His kingdom of the heavenly Father (v. 2). Then turns in ward to personal needs our daily food (v. 3). Then He closes off with a concern for our relationships with our fellow men (v. 4). In this short prayer He touches on all of the elements that should be built into our prayers. As we leave the busy crazy wotrld behind for a few moments and come into His presents, closong the door to our closet and just focus on our God. Pray to our heavenly Father, just Him and you, where you can become quiet before him, and axtully listen to Him, as He often speaks to us in a still small voice, sometimes even a whisper. Father God, help me to find that closet, so I can close the door, close out the noise of my presen noisy world and just take time to come into your presence. Thank you Jesus for setting the example for me/us while you were here on earth. It is in your name I pray. AMEN.
