The Rocks Will Cry Out
Praise Ye The Lord
(Luke 23:44-49)
"The centurion, seeing what had happened, praised Godl and said, “Surely this was a righteous man. When all the people who had gathered to witness this sight saw what took place, they beat their breastsm and went away. But all those who knew him, including the women who had followed him from Galilee,n stood at a distance,o watching these things".(Luke 23:47-49)
Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, saying, ‘Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!’Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples.”40But He answered and said to them, “I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.” (Luke 19:37-39)
God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are all worthy of worship and praise because they are the "THREE in ONE-GOD" three persons of the Trinity, one God that shares everything equally, that is the yshare the glory, power, and honor, and they all are worthy of it. The bible tells us the Father, Son, and Spirit are divine, so as God they deserve equal worship and praise. You may be asking, well, what is their roll in the divine leadership that would grant them such equallity.
The bible tells us, God the Father, is the Creator or the universe and all that is within it, and He sustains it, and keeps it. He should be honored and praised as the maker of all, who has breathed life into all living things in His creation. Without God there is no life. He should be praised for Praised for the love He has for us and all of creation, for His absolute holiness,He is perfect in every way. And for the percy and patience He shows to each of us who have gone astray, in disobedience. We need to look up to Him and only Him,as the ruler of the universe.
God the Son, Jesus is the Savior of all men, who stepped out of heaven and became a man, the perfect on, who knew no sin, and was willing to take our place on the cross, a sacrificial death, but then we need to praise and worshi[ Him, because of His victory over death, after three days, HE arose from the dead, just as He said He would. Jesus said, I am the way, the ruth and the live, He, allone secured our forgiveness and eternal life in heaven forever. Who has returned to heaven to prepare a place for us there, and is sitting in His place at the right hand of God. He also deserves our worship and our praise.
The Holy Spirit, the promised one, (John 14:1-4, 16-17), Jesus promises to send a comforter/counselor who would be an active guide in our lives, comforting us and giving us the power we need to live the Christian life. "We have the power" because the Holy Spirit "GOD" is living inside of us, He came to dwell with us. HE makes us all a part of the family of God, a part of a community of faith who comes together to praise and worship Him, for the great things God has done as the Father, the Son and as the Holy Spirit. Who are all worthy of it.
In our scripture for today we see (Luke 23:44-49), things about Jesus’ death, that leave us in awe of such love and we see His worthiness of our worship. Listen to Christ’s final words as He entrusts His spirit into the Fathers hands (v. 46) This shows His complete trust in God and His willingness to obey Him as His Father. Even if it means His sacrifical death on a cruel cross. As that day unfolded, as the darkness came (v. 44) and as the thick curtain in the temple tore from top to bottom (v. 45), creation itself trembled and shook in the supernatural presence of God. It was these events that caused the Roman centurion, to believe and proclaim Jesus’ was innocence and surely was the Son of God, a righteous man. (v. 47). As He proclaimed this He was proclaiming that Jesis was worthy of genuine worship and that, that worship and praise begins in the heart. We need to stop, and listen and proclaim this as well, that God’s power and holiness, needs to be worshiped. Jesus, sacrifice that day proved He was worthy of worship not only because of His power over creation but because of His self-giving love.
My friends, God loves You, if you do not know Him yet, would you come to Him today. HE took your place on the cross, to pay for your sins. Come just as you are. For the LOVE of God compeles you to come. I am praying for your Salvation.
In closing, the bible tells us in (Luke 19: 37-40), that if we do not praise and worship God, that even the Rocks cannot keep silent and they Will cry out in praise to God OH YES, HE IS WORTHY OF OUR PRAISE. AMEN
