Resist The Devil And He Will Flee From You
BE ALERT
(James 4, 1 Peter 5:6–11)
Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.(James 4:7-9)
Friends, I try not being the one who seems to find the devil behind every bush, sometimes, its simply our tuman nature wanting to have its own way, that gets us into trouble and the devil is just a good ine to pin it on. Although the bible does depict him as a fierce and cruel lion, an adversary that we need to be awat=re of,he is actively at work and opposing any and all of the good we want to do or rather that God wants us to do because if we are doing good for recognition of ourselves, he will not oppose that as much, because it is for selfish reasons we are doing it. His goal is to deceive mankind, and wants to cause spiritual failure. The bible tells us to stay alert and grounded in the word of God and in faith we are to resist the evil influences the devils activities have on us.. The devil is a master deceiver and loves to mask harmful activities with attractive or misleading practices. He is our opposition who likes to break the unity, create hate, and distract people, and especially born again believers, to bring disbelief in the relationship they now have with Christ. Plus it distracts from the positive and spiritualpurposes they now want to be involved in. As born again believers, we need to encourage being alert of the devil and His tactics. Having a mindfulness that brings moral clarity, and a desire to see a supportive community in and around us to counter the devils attacks.
As you read, (1 Peter 5:8) note that it is warning people to stay alert and watch out for spiritual dangers, not in fear, but inwisdom. It is here is tells us, the devil is like a roaring like whi is our lookung for a meal. He looks for and knows our weaknesses, and then temps us in those areas. for weak prey. It is also saying HE (the devil) does not rest, especially at night, it is then moves around finding people who are in the wrong place at the right time for him to advance his tactics in attacking their weaknesses.
He mimics a real lion who roars to scare its prey into making a mistake. Fear is one of the devils greatest weapons, another is lies, and then he brings in the hard times to make people believe his lies are truth. He keeps an eye out for the searching and weak people, who are already depressed and have isolated themselves from theit group. Someone who is tired and have let their guard down tired people who let their guard down. No longer alert to what is happening around them, and have lost that caring attitude in those times of weakness. , "Stay awake and aware of your choices we are making and the thoughts we are having in order to stand firm. We need to continue Trusting in God for strength instead of trying to fight in our own strength.
Today as you face this vicious foe I have been talking about, I pray that you will see him as an enemy who wants to conquer and devastate your souls. Peter in the word of God cautions you, “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour”(1 Peter 5:8). This enemy is a crafty trickster who is very dangerous, on our own, he is much more than we can handle. But with God all things are possible, we have hope In 1 John 4:4 it says, “The one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world” This “one who is in you” is God, in the form of the third person of the Godhead the Holy Spirit Himself who Jesus sent to live within us and to protect our souls. We need not fear the enemy of our souls, for God, through Jesus Christ and the indwelling Holy Spirit had given us the victory already. When Jesus arose from the dead, the emey was finished. We serve a living SAVIOR who is ALL POWERFUL. So then we can rely on the Holy Spirit, and we can gain confidence in the fact that our lives are guarded from the one who’s trying to conquer our souls. God, who is dwelling in us is greater than the devil who is in the world. We can trust God to be with us every step of the way He is faithful
Pray with me: God, I trust you, and thank You, and believe You are greater than Satan, and have already defeated him and are prepared to put him in his place, when it needs to be done. I ask you today to please help me rely on Your Spirit, to protect me and to help me make wise choices in my momement by momn=ent through out the day. It is in your name I pray AMEN..
