Spiritual Gifts Within The Body

Whats Your Spiritual Gift/Gifts (1 Corinthians 12:1-11) Humble Service in the Body of Christ For by the grace given mem I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function,so in Christ we, though many, form one body,o and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts,p according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with youra faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement;t if it is giving, then give generously;u if it is to lead,b do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully. (Romans 12:3-8) Spiritual gifts/talents can be found in the bible in a few places, (Romans 12:6-8; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11; and 1 Corinthians 12:28). These lists have some of the same ones, but none of them are axactly alike. There are many spiritual gifts and carried out in as many ways as there are peo0ple, because each individual has a different character. We have these gifts listed to help us see what is availabe and to teach us to put them into practice, through the love of God in our lives. To promotes growth and unity in the church we attend. this helps us become more of a part of the body.. (1 Corinthians 12:12-27; 13:1-13; 1 Peter 4:10). When we give our lives to God, He equips us with spiritual gifts so we can go about doing His work, our jobs are to edify and build up those attending our local body and also all of those we come in contact with each day. (Ephesians 4:11-16), putting our spiritual gifts into practice in serving others brings glory to the heart of God and brings a smile of pleasure when He sees us using the gifts He has given us. (1 Peter 4:10-11). Paul tells us, here is a tip in putting them to use. Do nit get puffed up, thinking your it,in the encouragement department, he says,do not think too highly or too lowly of ourselves but to simply just do your thing in the spiritual giftedness naturally and in humility (Romans 12:3). You will see, as each member of the church does this (vv. 4-6) the needs in the church will get met. And others will get the chance to see the engine of the church puring like a fine tunes machine. Seeing the sincere love we have for one another. (v.9) showing mutual respect and care (v. 10). Some are musical and can sing or play an instrument, and they do a great job in leading singing. “That is their gigt to the church. As we seek God with all of our heart HE will guide us into our giftings, as we go about His buisness within the body.. The Holy Spirit is there to teach us. Always remember when a stone is rolling it collects no moss. As we do what we believe is the will of God, our giftings may surprize us. For each Gift that God has given, was given given to serve in the church (1 Corinthians 12:6). Sometimes we don’t know what our spiritual gifts are and thats OK, like I said as you simply serve, the Holy Spirit will do the rest (vv. 4-6, 8-11). Yes, as you serve you find out which part of the body of Christ you are, and then simply funtion in your role. Because “we, though many parts, do form one body, and we were meant to work together with all of the other parts. We all have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us” (Romans 12:5-6). Teaching, encouraging, giving, and showing mercy are just some of the spiritual gifts mentioned in the book of Romans (vv. 6-8). So as you are enlightened of the spiritual gifts the Holy Spirit has given you, use them to serve others in the church—the body of Christ, both locally and as you have opportunity to go abroad (the body universal) (1 Corinthians 12:27). It sometimes helps to stop and take a look at your life asa believer to see, maybe where your stron points are in these giftings. Often with the help of the Holy Spirit it may get your stone rolling in the right direction. Then seek and ask God how you can use it to bless others? Father God, thank you for the spiritual gifts you have given me, please help me to use them well. It is in your name I pray AMEN. Dear God, please help me use my spiritual gifts to serve others.
