Without A Doubt
He Is The GREAT I Am
God said to Moses, “I am who I am.[c] This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’”God also said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’ “This is my name forever, the name you shall call me from generation to generation.(Exodus 3:14-15)
Two words Jesus used to tell us about Himself as to who He is, to us as His people. Telling us of His eternal existence and divine identity. You will find these two words in both testiments, both in the old and in the new. In the old testiment, God reveals Himself to Moses in Exodus
It spans from the Old Testament, where God reveals His name to Moses, to the New Testament, where Jesus applies this title directly to Himself. The Old Testament: God's Name in (Exodus 3:14), where Moses asks God what His nsme is and God says, "I AM WHO I AM." Which means God is self-existent, He is the eternal Creator really needs no one and has no begining nor end, He always has been. It is in Exodus 3:14-15 where God makes it very clear, who He is to the Israelites.
Then in the New Testiment, Jesus make simaler claims, that He also is the I Am. In John, Jesus uses this same words to explain His nature being divine as God is divine. As well as explaining his relationship to human being whom God created. in fact there is seven time, the perfect number where Jesus declaits who He is using these words, "I AM"
1. (John 6:35), "I AM, the bread of life. - Jesus provides spiritual nourishment that satisfies forever
2. (John 8:12), "I AM, The light of the World" - Jesus offers truth and guidance to a spiritually darkened world.
3. ((John 10:7), "I AM, The Gate for the Sheep" - Jesus is the only way to salvation and eternal security.
4. (John 10:11), I AM, The Good Shepherd - Jesus protects and lays down His life for His followers.
5. (John 11:25), IAM, The Resurrection and the Life - Jesus holds power over physical and spiritual death.
6. (John 14:6), IAM, The Way, the Truth, and the Life - Jesus is the singular path to God the Father.
7. (John 15:1), I AM, The True Vine - Jesus is the source of spiritual life and fruitfulness.
And to top that all of with "Before Abraham was born, I Am!"(John 8:58), Which connects Himself to God who is from the beginning of time and He has no end, HE saying He also is the elpha and omega. Jesus is the GREAT I AM, Jesus IS GOD.
(Colossians 1:15), Paul takes on false teacher about who Jesus is and affirms His identity, deity, and authority. He’s God, the creator who sustains all creation (Colossians 1:16-17). He’s the head of His new creation, the church (v.18). And He’s the Savior who redeemed and reconciled us to God by shedding His blood on the cross (v.19-23). He says Jesus is the supreme and HE is sufficient, He qualifies as our Savior: “In Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority” (Colossians 2:9-10). Paul says, “Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him” (2:7). So therefore we can be assured that Jesus is our Saviour, He is our salvation, so in Jesus we can be confident that we are born again, when we give our lives to Him and He comes to dwell within us. We can trust Him no matter what we face, He is a promise keeper and He said, I will nevr leave you nor forsake you.
We live our lives by days and nights, just as the sun rises each morning and just as it sets each night, of this we can be sure. Well my friends, listen to me, we can also be sure, that the Son who made the sun is surer than the SUN rising and seting. The SON is the “the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created,” and “in him all things hold together”(Colossians 1:15-17). He is the one, that turns day into night and night into day. He is the one in control. He puts electrons in the places they need to be, to hold every thing together. He causes the blood to pump through our veins that keeps us alive. He puts the air into our lungs as we function each day. And my hurting friends, HE is the one who holds you in His arms and mends your broken heart. All of this is the GREAT I AM, JESUS.
Yes, it is not the forces of nature that holds the world together, but rather the person of Jesus who stands outside of it, with His hands on it and holding it together, its JESUS. When ever He takes His hands away, things fall apart. As He allows things to happen so that we as febal humans will see and believe its all about Him
Today, I believe Jesus is still holding it all tof=gether because He wants to “reconcile you to Himself along with all things". (v. 20). I want all of my friends to know, that in a world that is falling down around, we have one sure thing. That is, Jesus, He will “present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation” (v. 22), as believers in Christ who have made all things right with Him.. Jesus says, this we must remember, "I AM the trith and the life, no man comes to the Father (gets into heaven) but through me." (John 14:6)
I know people who have been very, very afraid to die. And I know people who are not afraid to die. Whats the difference, well its that being sure in Jesus, it the close relationship, the living in no condemnation.. Knowing it not in your conrol, but rather its in "HIS".. We do not need to be afraid, for is we have the power of Jesus’ with in, we have power over the world and should be encouraged in the fact that Jesus has promised to take you home to heaven when you die. We can sinmpy pray, coming into His presence and rest in Him.
As I pray, I pray, Father God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, the three isn one, I trust You today with whatever comes my way. Father God, I rest in YOU. AMEN
