THE MOST HIGH MY DWELLING PLACE

MY REFUGE - MY FORTRESS Psalm 91 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say1 to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” For he will deliver you from fthe snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. (Psalm 91:1-4) Psalm 91 and like Psalm 90 they focus on the fact that God is our “dwelling place” (90:1, 91:2,9) God is a shelter a place of safety and acplace to feel secure. (Deuteronomy 33:27-28) says this, The eternal God is your brefuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms; He will thrust out the enemy from before you,and will say, ‘Destroy!, Then Israel shall dwell in safety, The fountain of Jacob falone, In a land of grain and new wine; His heavens shall also drop dew." And then again here in Psalm 91 the writer of the Psalms warns us once more that we live in a wicked and sinful world where we willencounter storms and attacks from the enemy and we will suffer from disease, disasters, and troubles, its not a may, but rather we will. (Psalm 91:3-6). He doesn’t say that those who trust in God will be immune from these things. But,rather, he assures us that when we trust in God and make Him “[our] refuge and fortress . . . [our] dwelling” (v. 9), He’ll “rescue” and “protect” us (v. 14). So my friends as we face a storm today, we can run for shelter to God who is the Most High and find protection in the shelter of His wings. in the shadow of His protection. (v. 1). So, O'm sorry to have to tell you, but the storms of life will come, but I praise God He has given us the guidance and directions a to what road to take to find cover. We will face Sorrows, we will at times worry, we will get sick from time to time, when we become dismayed, we will face confussion and fear will try sneak in and we will need refuge and shelter. We need a strong dad, or big brother to protect us and to tell us it will be ok. God is our Father and Jesus is our big brother and both of them have Promised to be there for us. Psalm 91 reminds us that God has promised to rescue us and to be with us in trouble. “Because he loves me . . . I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name” (v. 14). So my friends, when you need help call on His name and He “will answer” us (v. 15). Lord, God, when my courage fails me, I know I can run into your strong arms. I can find rest upon your strong shoulder, You are my shelter in the time of storms Thank you that I can gain the shelter I need when I run to you.How can you gain the shelter and refuge that God has promised you? Gracious God and Father, it makes me feel secure when I find refuge in You You are my comfort in my times of need, I love you and ant to serve you all the days of my life. It is in your name I ptay AMEN
