Pride Is The Root Of All Sin

But Salvation Comes By A deep Rooted Faith In God “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. It is better to be of a lowly spirit with the poor than to divide the spoil with the proud.” Proverbs 16:18-19 "Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is richm to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God. When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved? Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”(Matthew 19:23-26) Scripture teaches that pride is the cause of all sin. Pride is the soil where the enemy plants sin, and in that soil it germinates and begins to grow. Stop for a moment and really look at (Proverbs 16:18-19)—“Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. It is better to be of a lowly spirit with the poor than to divide the spoil with the proud.” So then, first comes pride, then destruction of the proud person. Yes, pride is that ugly part of your heart that causes you to be more concerned about yourself and your own reputation than you are about Christ and or your fellow man. I will not hesatate to say pride is the underlying cause of all sin.If you will only take the time to dig down to the taproot of your sin, you would find pride at the base of it. You would find that all of your sins come out of the sin of pride. So how do you go from the sin of pride (SIN) in genral to a deep rooted faith in God and being freed from sin? The rich young ruler said, What Must I Do To Be saved? He was trusting in himself, his good works, and his wealth for eternal life rather than in God (Matthew 19:16-22). Jesus here in Matthew sets him striaght, Jesus said it would be easier for a large camel to go through the small eye of a needle than for a rich man to save himself (v. 23). My friends if a moral, rich, good living person couldn’t make it into heaven, then to me it would seem imposible. (v. 25). Christ says it’s impossible for humans to save themselves but “with God all things are possible” (v. 26). Yes, God solved that problem, because of His great love for us His creation, “he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him” would “have eternal life” (John 3:16). As believers in Jesus, we can trust God—who can do the impossible—to help us, step out of the pride of sin and sadness into the light of the Gospel of Jeus Christ and have the impossible happen to us, and we can and will be in heaven if we believe and are saved from our sin. god will forgive all of our sin, if we will only humble ourselves and give our lives to Him It was said that, “Without faith, nothing is possible. With it, nothing is impossible.” This is what Jesus told the astonished disciples who were asking questions about salvation. They were trying to figure out how people could “enter the kingdom of God,” or heaven (Matthew 19:24). They wanted to know “who then can be saved?” (v. 25). Jesus shared with His followers that faith in God was the only way, because “with God all things are possible” (v. 26). He also said in (John 14:6) I am the way the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father (heaven) but through me." Yes, our sin, rooted in pride can only be uprooted by a belief in God and His abilities. Faith prompts us to believe in the possibility of things we don’t see yet (see Hebrews 11:1) Like me, wanting so badly to stop sinning, I was willing to do whatever it took to do so. I found that Jesus was there all the time and at any time I could confess my sins and He would forgive me. I read and believed John 1:9 which says, if I confess my sin, HE (Jesus) is faithful and just and would cleance me from all unrighteousness. And I have stood on that verse for many years. Later in my walk with God, He gave me (Philippians 3:1-16),and these verses stuck with me like glue, but the main verse I think about often is Philippians 3:13,14) which says this, "Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: nforgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for othe prize of the upward pcall of God in Christ Jesus. It told me, my deep rooted faith in Christ would make all things possible as I walked with Him looking forward to what He had for me. Lord, Thank you for planning a future for me. When I struggle in unbelief, I turn to you trusting and believing in your promises and in your power to perforn the impossible. Lord, Jesus please help me increase my faith in Your ability to do the impossible. As you have done so many times before in my life. I pray for a deep rooted faith in you, that will alliminate the pride that causes all of my sin. Lord, thank you for your powerful presence in my life. It is in your name I pray AMEN.
