Jerusalem (Zion) The City Of David

The Highway To God (Isaiah 35:1-10) A highway shall be there, and a road, And it shall be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it, But it shall be for others. Whoever walks the road, although a fool, Shall not go astray. (Isaiah 35:8) In the book of Isaiah, Zion or Jeruselem, will be rebuilt as a replica of the heavenly city of Zion. It speaks of eternal restoration of God's dwelling place, thats promising a period of unprecedented spiritual radiance, universal peace, and divine vindication for His people. As you read the scriptures you will see it often speak of Zion.. Yes, Zion (or Jerusalem) is prophesied to become a beacon of truth. The prophet Isaiah declares that the glory of the Lord will rise upon it, drawing nations and kings to its brilliance. Read, Isaiah 54, and see God promises to His people and how He will restore a formerly desolate city where the foundations will be of sapphire, The gates that protect you will be made of rubies, wow, and the walls will sparkle with precious jewels.. This is symbilic of God’s everlasting kindness and a covenant of peace, this city and this foundation will not be shaken. (Isaiah 2:2-3), the "mountain of the house of the Lord" will be established, and people from all nations will stream to it to learn God's ways." Looking beyond the earthly city, into the eternal realm, we can see that "Zion" points towards God's dwelling place a place where all will be safe and protected forever. As a Christian, I can look far into the future, or maybe not so far away now, but none the less, the future, God's glory and the glory promised to us as believers, find the finish line, the fulfillment of prophecy through the spreading of the Gospel, friends, this is why God want us to go into all the world and preach the gospel, so one day we all can enjoy the city of God prepared for His followers. We can look forward to reigning eternally, with Christ in the heavenly CITY of Zion. Isaiah also prophesied that once the seventy years of punishment was complete, God would bring them back to the promised land and restore and prosper their land (29:10-11). Isaiah pictures them making their way back to Him on “the Highway of Holiness,” traversing “a great road . . . through that once deserted land . . . only for those who walk in God’s ways” (Isaiah 35:8). Think about our journey of faith, God's promised to be with us always, and He will keep His promises.. HE want us to come to Him and to stay true to Himn, being willing to run to Him with our with our fears and with our trials. Isaiah says, “Let us go to the house of God. There he will teach us his ways, and we will walk in his path” (2:3 nlt). The key to staying on the road and out of the ditches is repentance through which we can be redeemed, keeping our trust strong,so that we can live in obedience and staying on the road He wants us to take. In Isaiah 30:21, it says “This is the way; walk in it”. My friends, if we will take this road, we will find that on this road we will find no wicked fools On that road will be no wicked fools, no wolves in sheeps clothing.. But rather we will find that “only the redeemed will walk there,” those whom God has rescued from their sin and folly. (v. 9). I for one was a lost soul, did not feel at home in my own skin. Then Jesus found me, and gave me a new home, from their home where I experienced His presence, and as I grew closer to Hinm, those feeling of loneleness and depression left. When I was able to step into God's promises of the Way of Holiness, and I found the path to God, I found hope once again, I found a new found strength. I found that I could enter Zion, my heavenly home, with singing, with no fear and no sorrow, and could have all of my tears washed away. And I could in Christ rejoyce.(v. 10). Friends, the people of Israel, held onto these promises back then, and so can we today. We who believe in Jesus can trust His promises as we walk this journey with Him, because we know the peace, joy and love of God(v. 10). When trials come in this world we can face them with confidence even though they may be very taxing they may change our day to day but we know we know our God's way will lead us HOME to Him, to Zion, to the city of our God. Father God, thank you for your everlasting promises. Promises that tells me that even though I may experience trials that are outside of my control, I know I can turn to you, because you have all things under your control. You are the all knowing, all powerful, everywhere God. So even though I may be loosing it, I know you've got it. Thank you, it is in Jesus Name I pray AMEN. Saving God, please help me to release my fears to You as I walk on the Way of Holiness. I long to be with You.
