HE IS ALL I NEED

A MAN AFTER GOD'S Own Heart “Green pastures” and “quiet waters” (1 Samuel 13:13,14, Acts 13:17-23) "The Lord is my shepherd,t I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides mex along the right pathsy for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a tabled before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and loveg will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." (Psalm 23) Davi, is the authour of Psalm 23, we David perfect, absalutly not, David was all human just like you and me. Yet he was known as a man after God's heart. Why? Because he loved God and God loved Him. We hear this ringing true as we read and listen to Psalm 23. Its a scripture that is quited often even by people living in the world and do not even claim to know God.. But still they quote Psalm 23. Why, because David spoke from his heart. I had a friend, that after he gave his life to the Lord he started his prayer with the Lords prayer.. "Our Father who art in heaven, Halled be thy name." It to is a special scripture that has captured peoples hearts. But Psalm 23 starts out like this, "The Lord is my Sheperd, I shall not want". It is so true, if I, if we, have the Lord as our sheperd we will truly lack nothing.(v. 1). He meets us, and provides all that we need from food, to drink, to rest. Yup, if you will give your life to Him, He will leadyou, refresh you, guide you, and comfort you. (vv. 2-4); your heart (your cup) will overflow with many blessings.(v. 5). He will wrap His loving arms around us and love on us with all of the goodness of His love in this life and in the one to come.(v. 6). When I have a loving Sheperd like this I really have no reason to live in fear (v. 4). A couple chapters later, in chapter 27, Davis says, there is one thing I ask of God, that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.” Like David, may our longing be for God. In His presence, we find rest and restoration. WE serve a great and loving God, how can I not live in peace when I am laying in His loving arms. Friends, do you want to be know as one who seeks after the very heart of God? If you do, here is a discription of that person, they are one who loves what God loves and earnestly seeks to follow His will and be obedient to what He commands in the bible. But as I said before Davidwas all human as we are. David had major moral failures, David was also known for having a consience and repenting quickly for the wrong he had done. and he was known for having an absolute faith in God and he had genuine devotion to God. (1 Samuel 13:14 and Acts 13:22) God saw David, was a man who would fulfill all of His will. No, David was not given this title because he was sinless; rather, it describes who he was when he was living out his life and it discribed his character. The scriptures tell us, that David had a strong faith, He had great courage as he stepped out in faith and defeated Goliath. Because He believed that God would fight for him. He just knew and believed God was his protector. Plus, David had a heart that was both thankful, he had unfiltered love, joy, sorrow, and awe in God's presence. He loved God's law and valued God's values. When David sinned, Hehe confessed those sins. David's life shows that being after God’s heart doesn't require perfection but rather being sencere in our lives about staying on track with God. Having a heart that remains soft and sensitive to God's ways. When confronted with error, a heart after God's own heart runs to Him for mercy and is willing to change course. Rather than running away and turning hard and cold towards God. A man after God's own heart is a soft piece of clay that is moldable into the vessel God want him to be. Father, I come to you today, praying that I too may become known as a man after your heart. My desire is to be obedient to you and to share your ways and your love with all whom I meet, in my speach and in my actions, in all that I do. Help me Lord o stay true to you. With a love that is right and oure.. Help me love as you loved. God you are my provider, my protector,and my comforter. Thank you.. It is in Jesus name I ptay AMEN.
