Happiness Is Choosing Wisdom
What Path Have You Choosen
Proverbs 3:1-15
Happy is the man who finds wisdom, And the man who gains understanding; For her proceeds are better than the profits of silver,
And her gain than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies, and all the things you may desire cannot compare with her.
Proverbs 3:13-15
Here in Proverbs 3 we will see the benefits seeking after wisdom. There are advantages following in the guidance God wants to give in relation to wisdom, yes, wisdom bring “peace and prosperity” (v. 2), also it will make you into a good man/woman who can be known as someone who is seekingthe heart of god. It will give you “a good name” or reputation in your community (v. 4), and you will have good “health” (v. 8) these are benifits but not promises of a good life. But they are benifits that can accompany walking in wisdom. If we are wuse and aware, we will know that in this fallen world born again Christians often experience great hardship, because we wrestle not again flesh and blood, but against prinsapalities and powers. As you read this chapter, you will be directed towards a world created by God and His perfect wisdom, therefore when we as believers (humans in general) if we choose to follow His wise ways, we will thrive when live according to His wise principles.
If we turn to Hebrews chapter 2, we find the word Shalom, which means peace. It is a word that imbodies not just absence of conflict but rather someone who is flourishing in life, in the presence of a wise and holy God. We read of a rich and abundant life, where we are living in peace, joy and happiness. This peace (shalon) points to a world like it was intenderd to be from the very beginning. A place where unity and love riegn, between God and His creation, with everyone getting along and taking care of one another, caring and loving on one another in a way that God would be very pleased. Today I want to encourage you that in whatever you face, to seek God’s wisdom and direction it will bring you new Hope and a new step into your life, and through this wisdom as God takes control your situations will chage. It does not mean that the situation will be taken away, but the way you come out the other side of the situation willbe what is so different.
As we choose to walk inwisdom from God, we will find it deeply rewarding and a path that will protect us and we will walk the path in peace. As we embrace humility, we will recognizing that fact we are experiencing long term results to our choices. We will; learn to put great value in the joy we experience from making wise choices based on wisdom from above. If we will study the Books of Psalms and Proverbs we will learn and be taught much wisdom. We will learn the differences between, wisdom and foolishness. We will learn how to live life wisely, building good habits as we renew our minds that will help us think and make good long term choices. That will in the long run help us in our emotional state in everyday life. We will see how we have avoided impulsive decissions and short term "fun". Also we will find out how relaxing it is to let go of the idea, that we always need to be right. We will find out we are happier as we relax in the face of our situation and just let God be God and go along for the ride.
My friends at time we will feel overwhelmed by our circumstances and the trials we are facing, I understand that. And that we will experience set backs in our walk. We find ourselves have set backs in our walk. But Proverbs encourages us, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding” (v. 5). This is simly saying, “Let go and let God” lead your life.
Father God, help me make wise choices and at times or always let go and let you lead, rather than always trying to do it my way. So Lord today, I place the day in your hands. Help me walk on your way today. Lord with you, I can always be at peace, help me experience that peace today. It is in yout name I pray AMEN..
