Give And It Will Be Given Unto You

Don't Give OUT OF WHAT YOU DON"T HAVE (2 Corinthians 9:1-15) Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give,f not reluctantly or under compulsion,g for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is ablei to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need,j you will abound in every good work. As it is written:“They have freely scattered their giftsk to the poor; their righteousness endures forever.”a lBut out of what you do have and have been given you can give generously! I'll explain in a bit. (2 Corinthians 9:6-9) Giving Tithes and Gifts and whats the difference. A tithe is a percentage of your income that God requires of you,in the bible it gives a guide that the minimum is 10% of your income given back to God through you place of worship as an act of obedience to God, do not give it our of duty, because then is is no longer a tithe but rather a payment to God, like paying a bill. And thats not cheerful giving A gift is not the tithe, but rather it is a thankful offering unto God out of a thankful and joyful heart. It is voluntary, God does not demand it, or it is not a commandment. It is a spontaneous donation of an amount you feel that God is asking you to give. When you feel this nudge of God, in your service to Him, it is then you freely give above and beyond the tithe. That gift goes to support another person ar a need, charities, or a ministry, other than your regular tithe. When we understand the difference between tithes and gifts, we can learn to manage our giving with clarity. My tithe to the Lords reflects my faithfulness to God and my foundational trust in my faith in Him and what He does through His servants. In so doing I acknowledge that everything belongs to God, everything I have is His and I return the tithe in thanks giving, because God is good. And when I give a gift it reflects my joy and my compassion to do the will of God and to respond out of Christian love to the needs around me and the movement of the Holy spirit in my life ti response to the need. Paul in 2 Corinthians 9 said this about giving. He spoke in favour of thefact that the Corinthian christians were ready to help fellow believers (v. 2), they had collected a pot of gifts for Paul and He was looking forward to that support.(v. 3). He said to them when you give, give generously and cheerfully," and then he says, God not only rewards those who gave (vv. 6-7) but He will also bless people for being obedient in giving and in and of that blessing they are able to give more as God directs them. (v. 8). But friends, please remember God does not expect you to promise and or give out of what you do not have, because if you do not have it, it is not yet yours to give away. Do not promise to give away what you are unable to give, because tyou do not yet have it, and you may not get it, therefore you would be in debt to your promise. (8:12). God has entrusted us with money, time, or talents so that we can abound and give generously in every good work (9:8), He promises when we are obedient to Him, =He will supply all of our needs and many of our wants, so we “can be generous on every occasion” (v. 11). My friends, thats why we can give in faith and with a cheerful heart (v. 7), because we know we give only from what we’ve been given vy God. In tithing and giving in this way we will bring praise and honour to God’s name and be an encouragement and support to the work of God in our world. (v. 13). STOP, THINK, Take a second look at what God has given to you.. Have you been blessed above and beyond what you have expected? Then in the face of God's blessing who can you bless? Because sharing what you have been blessed with, in turn will bring some kind of a blessing again to you as you share from what you have Father, God I love you and want to pleas you in my whole life, even with the surplus you have provided in meeting my needs. Please, I ask for your guidance in my giving, I know the tithe is yours. Please open my eyes to Your blessings and open my heart to bless others generously and cheerfully. I know that you, love a cheerful giver. Forgiveme for thetimes I have given with a uncheerful heart and have given out of duty rather than from the heart. It is in Jesus name I pray AMEN
