The Heavens Declare The Glory Of God

WALKING IN HIS SPLENDOR (Psalm 104:1-16) "To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. There is no speech nor language Where their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world. In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun." (Psalm 19:1-4) In Genesis 1:31, so on the 6th day of creaton as God was finishing up He said everything He had made was good. “very good” (Genesis 1:31). Then in the Psalms the Psalmist says, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands” (Psalm 19:1). For me, when I stop and look up into the skies at night, we’re reminded of God and His handi-work (8:1-4; Isaiah 40:26). When I was at the Akagara park in Rwanda and seen tall of the animals in their natural habitat, when I see birds sorring in the sky, in the Yukon when out fishing, you look down throigh the cristal clear water and see the fish swimmimg along the bottom of the lake, or see them lying there as the sun reaches through the water to caress them. (Psalm 104:24-25), in all of this I see “the hand of the Lord” (Job 12:9). Paul in the New Testament says this: “Since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made” (Romans 1:20). This summer, as you spend time in nature, go for a walk along a beautiful mountan lake, climb a rocky mountain to get a better veiw, just stop, stand on awe and worship Him. Just celebrate God, His beauty, His goodness, and His love for you. We serve an awesome God How is it, that for some people they see God’s beauty right away, as it being so very, very beautiful and yet others can't seem to see it? I often wonder why so many people miss it, when they do, seriously they are missing so much. One reason may =be that they are so busy living life they have had their eyes blinded to it. I would call it a life fog has covered the beauty of it. This smog has left many people in the dark when it comes to the beauty of creation. Leaving them unable to see anything but themselves and what they are doing in the moment. Psalmist in Psalm 104 uses very vivid word pictures that catches my minds eye, and its almost like your actually seeing it. You see God “clothed with splendor and majesty” (v. 1), seeing His beauty, feeling His power, and sensing and leaning into His care in the wind and the warmth of the fire (v. 4), when the thunder rolls and the waves lap upon the shore, you feel God caress rather than His wrath. (v. 7), As you set on a hill side overlooking a body of water, with the grass between your toes, as the wind ruffles the leaves in the trees overhead. (vv. 10-16). What an amazing feeling, if you have not ecperienced this, you need to. It is amazing as your senses awake and you feel GOD. There are so many thing placed in creation to soothe and sustain ones body and soul (v. 15) and in so doing it turns you to see the “the glory of the Lord” (v. 31) I say to you my friends, STOP, look up, wonder in your soul ask God to help you see wonder of His love wrapped in His creation. There are so many reasons to see God and believe in Him, there are no excuses. As His creation we need to celebrate God’s beauty and goodness “as long as [we] live” as long as HE continues to breath into us the breath of life, just as He did after creating Adam, the first human, and it say, God breathed into Him the breath of life. (Genesis 2:7 (v. 33). Think with me this morning, what are we doing today that dulls our senses and our awareness of God’s glory? Tell me, what helps you and me see with our eyes and feel and experience the beautiful creation God has made for us and has placed us in it to care for it? We need to awake and smell the roses and feel the wind caress our hair and realize it is God. Dear God, thank You for the beauty of your creation, it fills the woder of my mind and Lord Jesus, I think of you and your love thats all around me. Lord you fills the world with your GLORY. Lord help me see it, help me celebrate it. Your beauty and the work of Your hands surround me and Your Holy Spirit has revieled to me its beauty Thank you Jesus, it is in your name I pray AMEN.
