THE BEAUTY OF THE LORD

Beautiful Things In The Bible One thing I have desired of the Lord,That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord All the days of my life,To behold the beauty of the Lord, And to inquire in His temple. (Psalm 27:4) "Beautiful"in God's word can mean both physical and spiritual. Physical examples are (Sarah, Rachel, Esther) and it can also mean moral and goodness in action. The bible tells of the goodness and love of God in creation, in His holiness , and then it speaks of beautiful feet that bring good news, then is also speaks of the qualities of goodness in a person who has a gentle and contrite spirit, one who has wisdom and cares about others. Read (Psalm 27:4, 2 Chronicles 20:21) these speak of the beauty of the Lord. God as being Holy and without fault. Praise to the Lord for His beauty of being Holy and perfect, “Praise the LORD, For His mercy endures forever.” So Jesus our Lord is discribed as being beautiful. There are people in the bible described as being beautiful physically, people such as Sarah, (Genisis 12:11) Rachel (Gen 29:17), Joseph (Gen 39:6), Esther (Esther 2:7), and David (1 Sam 16:12). All of these people are seen as beautiful in appearance. Thats not a bad thing as long as it does not develop into pride, and you become your own idol. Then another kind of beauty spoke of in scripture is the inner beauty of the human soul. We as believers can have and should have, "A gentle and quiet spirit (1 Peter 3:3-5), Also we can and should have wisdom and a fear of the Lord. A righteous fear of who God is and what He is able to do. (Proverbs 31:30, Matthew 10:28). Then we have beauty in action, we are to be the hands and feet of the Lotd, (Matthew 25:34-40) The "beautiful" feet of those who bring good news is writen about in (Romans 10:15) We as believers are to serve others in acts of service and love, a good example is Mary anointing Jesus, (Mark 14:6). We have a beautiful world do we not? Yes, when the world is in its proper time and we are in the right place, our world can be and is a place of beauty. For me, I love nature, I love beautiful scenes, sun set, sun rises, a sparkling calm mountain lake, a beautiful blue blending in with the surounding mountains.(Ecclesiastes 3:11), Even a structure, a building, a sculpture, you name it, they to can be seen as beautiful as the Temple/Gates that are mentioned as such in (Acts 3:2), and Zion (Psalm 48:2).. This last one I am beginning to like, many of us will one day be beautiful in this way. Look at (Proverbs 20:29) The "grey head" (or age/wisdom). Are you going to be the wise one, with grey/silver haer? The one I like the most is this one , Beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news. Personally, physically I have ugly feet, but spiritually I pray they have been and will be beautiful, because they carry the good news to people. If you want beautiful feet, heres some of the ways how you can have a spiritual pedicure. Proclaiming Peace and Salvation. Going and Sharing the Gospel, Serving as "Sent" Messengers, supporting missionaries,living a Life of Testimony, walking in the spirit of readiness, (Ephesians 6:15), beautiful feet are "shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace, persevering throughtrials, not loosing faith. These my friend discrible follower of Christ who have beautiful feet. Lord, thank you, for creating beautiful things. Thank you for calling us to have beautiful feet. Please give me beautiful feet today. Help me be an encouragement to those I meet today. In your name I pray AMEN
