Perfect Love Casts Out FEAR
NO FEAR IN LOVE
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear,f because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because he first loved us. Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sisterh is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. (1 John4:18-20)
In this world and bassed on us as Human Beings, there is no such thing as PERFECT LOVE. It's impossible, bit I am so glad I serve a God of the impossible. For He says in His word,"Perfect love casts out fear" (1 John 4:18) It goes on "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves discipline and no one likes discipline. (Hebrews 12:11). If we truly frar someone or something we have not been made perfect in love." Friends, "Perfect Love", does not mean flawless human affection. But rather it is speaking of God’s love and God's love is complete and perfect. It is a mature love that can be seen being acted out in a person's life.
Its agape love, the unconditional love of God. The fear mentioned here is not of love, but rather it is the judgment, condemnation, or punishment that comes because of wrong doing. You see when we understand and know God, we no longer fear because God is a God of love and even His punishment has our best interest in mind, just as our parents discipline should also have our best interest in mind. But I realize our parents are himan and the ymake mistakes when God in not in control. Bit when a person truly understands and rests in the knowledge that God loves them, That fearful fear is no longer there, but it becomes a reverant fear knowing that when God punishes you, it will turn out in something better for you in the end. (Romans 8:28)
So what does this mean? Well, if you still have a real fear of God, and that fear is dominating or controling your life, it simply means you have not fully grasped or matured in your spiritual walk, and thats ok, its a process as you learn and experience the kind of love our God has for you. (Hebrews 12:6, Proverbs 3:12) Real love will move from spoken to active, when you start acting out what you believe about Gods love, that love has moved from your head to your heart. You have matured in your relationship with Jesus to the intended maturity He wants to see develop in you.
Listen, this mature love is what will carry you as you come to the end of your days, it will bring you confidence as you face death and on the day all of our sins will be laid bare before Jesus on judgemnt day. (Hebrews 4:13) We know that we will not be condemned because "there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:1) But in the same breath we will have to give a count for the good or bad we have done, as far as rewards go.(2 Corinthians 5:10) This is why we need to see our love compel us to do good to all, our good works do not save us, but our salvation should give us the desire to do good works. When we know God’s love, it provides assurance and security, which frees us as believers from the "fear" of our eternal destiny. When we have built our lives on Jesus Christ as our firm foundation we will produce good works that will not burn when tested by fire. So as we learn more and more about God and who He is, any fear that we have will gradually disappear because Perfect love casts out all fear. Embracing God's love takes away any crippling fear of being rejected or punished by ernal separation from Him. (1 Corinthians 3:12-15)
As our love begins to show through our support and love for anothers, that is maturity on display, it is making a choice to being more like Jesus, we will never be perfect as He is perfect, but one day we will be like Him. (1 John 3:2) John, taught this to the churches He was discipling in the faith who were burdened by false teaching about Christ and His love. He said,“We love because He first loved us." “Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar” (1 John 4:19-20). and then He says it again, to drive the message home. “Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister” (v. 21).
Father God, thank you for your AGAPE LOVE, it is awesome and so wonderful, I do not have to fear.. I love you and trust you in these days as we await the return of our Lord to take us home. Lord, Please guide me to love like You love, thaat your love will show through in my love for other. In your name O pray AMEN
