ENTER INTO MY REST

TODAY, SO ONE DAY (Hebrews 4:1-11) Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it.w 2 For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed.(Hebrews 4:1-2) Hebrews 4:1-11, Yes, we are to rest while here on this earth, God put that in place as He first set Saturday as the earthly day of rest, as the seventh day, as in Genisis, and then changed it To Sunday, in rememberance of Jesus life, death and resurrection, to sve man from His sin.But Hebrews here also talks of another rest, it is that one day, a promise will be fulfilled for believers to enter God's rest,(heaven) a future state of ceasing from earthly labors, God's work, and this is similar also to God resting on the seventh day, because His creating of the earth was finished. This is a spiritual rest, this rest begins somewhat at salvation because we should seace from our fight against sin, because God fights for us. As long as we are on this earth though we will have a constant battle against the enemy but as obedient believers we no longer fight alone. For we have salvation, saved from our sins and the promised Holy Spirit has come to live within us, and we now have inner peace, we have begun our trip to an eternal Sabbath, that my friends is achieved through faith, perseverance, and obedience, rather than thinking we are saved by our good works."personal works". As we move towards that finish line, we await our final rest, for the people of God, it is a perfected rest in heaven forever more.Where we can experience God’s perfect peace at last in the present by trusting in the finished work of Christ. This rest, one day will be entered into by those believers who have come to Jesus and have been obedient in their walk with Him. For a sign of true salvation, is obedience to the word of God and God's will. It says by their works you shall know them. (Matthew 7:15-20) We do not want to be like the generation who had to go through the wilderness because they failed to enter due to disobedience and unbelief. We as believers are called to make every effort ("labour") to enter that rest, lest we fall because of a similar disobedience. O know that ONR DAY, I will reach that final rest, that eternal rest and be in a state of perfect peace where believers are totally free from the temptations of satan and the struggle with sin. Oh, I look forward to that day, because some days I get so tired of the fight and want to just quit fighting. And then realizing I can, because the Holy Spirit is within me to fight for me. Sometimes I don’t even realize I am exhausted, and that I need physical, mental, and emotional rest. As I strive for God's divine rest and accept both the good news of salvation through Christ and daily spiritual rest as the Spirit enables us to live for Christ by faith. For I know as we place their trust in God we can depend on His unending presence, and we have unlimited power, and promises that will come true. Because we are saved through Christ’s work on the cross, and when we believe and accept the fact that we already have that rest in the peace of His sufficiency (Hebrews 4:1-4). We can already experience that divine rest and look forward to it guaranteed fulfilment on that day, when Jesus comes again (vv. 5-8). YES, “anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his” (v. 10). My friends, we have that securety now in Christ, while we are still on this earth we can enjoy a hope-filled life of surrender and loving obedience to God through trust and relying on Him. It is Christ who can provide that true rest yesterday and today and forever. Faithful and love God, I want to thank You for the ever present rest in believing and following you in obedience. One Day, I look forward to resting with no more struggle against sin, for you are my enduring resting place. HEAVEN AWAITS, as I walk in your kindom rest today AMEN
