LOVE, KINDNESS and ENCOURAGEMENT

SHOW A LITTLE KINDNESS

(2 Samuel 9:1-10)

And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for                              Jonathan thy father's sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father;                                                             and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.                                             (2 Samuel 9:7)

An uplifting experience always lightens the heavy heart of the one who has the experience. Now I believe it would be something great if that uplifting experience was planned.                  Can you imagine making a plan to be the one to attempt to lift at least one persons               Spirits every day of your life, I know that in doing so, your spirit would be lifted as well.

Hebrews 12 :1-2 - Says this -"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."

Jesus , is the kindest and most loving human being I have ever known, but He isn't                 just another human, He is God's Son who came down from heaven, because of                     His great love and kindness for his people to die on the cross for their sins,                               to pay the price of their sin. Jesus was the greatest helper we could have ever had.

Friends listen, it takes deliberate, action and wise leadership to honour and uplift those who are on the lower scale in our society. But when we are kind to all, with no strings attached, it will reflect on our characters and it will mirror what King David did in seeking out to honour His friend Johnathan, he found Johnathans son and showed kindness to him.                                  (2 Samuel 9:1-10)

It was said in King Davids time, that the blind and the lame would not enter into the palace      (2 Samuel 5:8) But that was not referring to a person or persons as such, but rather it referred to his enemies. But David went out and found Mephibosheth, who was Saul's son he was crippled in both legs, brought him into the palace and made a place for him there, at his royal table. He showed kindness to his enemies son. And made a place for him and lifted him up.

Paul in the New Testament, gives us clear guideline as to how we should treat other. “Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honouring each other” (Romans 12:10). So my friends, lets make a difference, let us practice in following the direction of scripture and be obedient to it, in making sure we honour Jesus,

In practicing living in the loving light of Jesus, and helping those we encounter along the way. Look for ways to be kind to others, it does not matter who they are, but it matters how you treat whoever they are. We are to try and be an encouragement to all we i=encounter in our day. So what does it mean to you, to show honour to others.

Dear God, Heavenly Father, thank you, for the love you give us, so we can follow your example in showing kindness to others, by loving on them when we have the chance. Help me Lord, to see those chances and to step into them out of obedience to you. Please help me show grace and kindness toward those who need my love and assistance. It is in your name I pray AMEN
