ELOHIM SHOMRI - My Protector

 God's Protection

Psalm 3:1-8

But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head.                             I cried to the Lord with my voice, And He heard me from His holy hill. Selah                               (Psalm 3: 3-4)

I am so glad for God's protection over the years, He had been my invisible shield, just like it says here in Psalm 3, I know He had protected me with infinite power, great wisdom and has loved me like no one else could I tell you this God has shielded me from many many unseen things most of which I will never know of until I cross over the thresh hold at heavens door. (Psalm 3:3; 18:2,3, 35; 28:7; 59:11; 91:4; 119:114; 140:7; 144:2).

I don't know about you, but for me, I have felt very vulnerable at many different danger through out the years, I have felt and experienced many different dangers, from being lost in the woods,  to facing wild animals alone. Walking into my spiritual enemies territory and having to face him head on. Im telling you, if we knew all of the scenarios we were going to face, it would have been disheartening. But God in all of His wisdom, protected us from those worries.

I know that anxiety, becomes a pretty close friend when we start worrying about everything that could go wrong, in our day to day. For me, I tend to over think things "worry" and I loose sleep over what may never happen.. Maybe that is why God has given us His Holy Scriptures to help us along the way. In them He gives us a picture of the protection He provides for us. Like   Psalm 3:3 “But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory and the One who lifts up my head.”

 What does it mean that God is my shield? A in shield in battle in the early years was used to deflect the arrows of the enemy, but this may not resonate with us today. But today, we have a shield that we should be able to understand, because it is protecting us this very moment. We just need to open our eyes and look, just as King David did in (Psalm 19:1-2), Listen - “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims His handiwork.

 Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge.” as I like to watch the sun rises and the sun sets, I realize my God is the same yesterday, today and forever. All I need to do is to look up into the bright blue yonder, and realize where my help, my protection comes from. Read Psalm 121, and you will see what I am talking about.

"I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. This chapter is one of my favourites, read it all, God has got my back, He will always have my back, because He never changes. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. I can depend on Him, to watch over me, and help me at times even when I do not acknowledge Him.

Pray with me - Father god, thank you for your wisdom and knowledge in protecting me from danger and from myself At time Lord, I know I am my own worst enemy. Lord forgive me when I neglect looking to you for my protection. For I know I can always depend on you and lean on you when I am weak. Lord, I know you are the one that makes me strong. Lord I LOVE YOU         It is in your name I pray                                                                                                                      AMEN
