THE LEGACY LEFT BEHIND
-THE LEGACY LEFT BEHIND
As I write this article this morning on the day I am travelling, to remember the life of my Father in-law. I have these thoughts running through my head, what kind of a legacy am I leaving behind me? Am I leaving a life that others will want to pattern their life after? My life needs to count for something that will be looked up to and respected because of the God that I serve, not because of something that I have done, but I want my life to point others to God, not to me. Will my tomb stone say, HERE LAYS A MAN THAT GAVE HIS ALL FOR HIS LORD? Here are some thoughts about what a few other people in this life have thought about leaving behind a good LEGACY .........
1. "All good men and women must take responsibility to create a legacies that will take the next generation to a level we could only imagine." Jim Rohn
What Legacy are you laying down for those who will follow in your footsteps?
-2. "Carve your name on hearts, not tombstones. A legacy is etched into the minds of others and the stories they share about you." - Shannon L. Alder
What will people write about you, if they decide to tell your story?
3. "If you would not be forgotten as soon as you are dead, either write something worth reading or do something worth writing." - Benjamin Franklin
What have you written that would be worth someone picking up to read or what have you done that would make someone want to pick up a pen and write about you?
4. "No legacy is so rich as honesty." William Shakespeare
Have you been honest, once you have been laid to rest will others remember you as a man or women of integrity, someone that would keep their word and be truly honest?
5. "I think the whole world\d is dying to hear someone say, "I love you. I think that if I can leave the legacy of love and passion in the world, then I think I've done my job is a world that's getting colder and colder by the day." - Lionel Richie
What kind of a legacy of love are you, am I, going to leave behind us when we leave this world behind?
6. "That is your legacy on this Earth when you leave this Earth: how many hearts have you touched." - Patti Davis
How many hearts have we touched in such a way that, that touch will make them a better person in the end?
7. "The great use of life is to spend it for something that will out last it." -William James
What have I done in this life that will be remembered even after I am gone? Will my actions live on for the better, for the good of others once I have left this earth?
8. Immortality is to live your life doing good things, and leave your mark behind." Brandon Lee
What mark have you left behind, for you children and your grand children?
9. "You make your mark by being true to who you are and letting that be your staple."
-Kat Graham
Have you been true to who you are?
10. The Legacy of heroes is the memory of a great name and the inheritance of a great example. - Benjamin Disraeli
Will I be a hero in the eyes of my children and grandchildren, or will I be just another grandfather figure that lived and died?
11. Your story is the greatest legacy that you will leave to your friends. It's the longest- lasting legacy you will leave to your heirs." - Steve Saint
What will other remember of your story once you are gone?
